Known Issues
- I don't know of any existing issues at this time.
To Do
There are several Features planned for future Versions:
- Organization of the engine with Folders (tags/categories?) and Separators
- Hidden Search Engines (for unprivileged Users who do not want/need the Search Engines an Administrator installed)
- Editing Search Engines
- Export (Zip, Web-Page or something like that)
- Allow to change the colors of the engines (grouping without needing Folders)
- Compatibility with SeaMonkey and Flock
- Allow hiding of the "Add Engine to Search Bar" Option

- fixed: too high search engine icons are now stretched to 16*16
- Stricter HTML compliance when creating search plugins (support for multiple selects, disabled form elements and those without a name are not sent)

Changes in Version 0.5.2 ("silent" Update) from Dec / 10 / 2005:
- pt-BR locale (thanks to Jeferson Hultmann)
Changes in Version 0.5.2 from Oct / 21 / 2005:
- When alphabetic sorting is enabled, it doesn't disable manual sorting (but manual sorting will disable alphabetic)
- the "Add Engines"-menu item should be always on bottom
- the error that a search plugin hasn't been found comes only up when it is true
- added icons to context menus
- added checkbox to never prompt when deleting a search plugin

- Resetting the order should work now
Changes in Version 0.5 (perhaps incomplete) from Sep / 16 / 2005:
- Drag & Drop in the searchbar
- Changed order (and deleted engines) don't require a restart before they get applied
- "Add Engines.." can be hidden
- "Rearrange search engines" can be hidden
- alphabetic sorting is applied until is it deactivated
- inverted alphabetic sorting (from A to Z)
- easier "Uninstalling" by using an engine's context menu
- improved Interface

Changes in Version 0.2.1 from June / 19 / 2005:
- Italian translation (thanks Luana alias MatrixIsAllOver from eXtenZilla)
Changes in Version 0.2 from May / 29 / 2005:
- Search Engine Ordering can be opened several times in a session (a session is meant to be the time between strating and closing Firefox) without losing the changes made in this session earlier
- the window needs less space (some people had a window which was too small for its content)
Changes in Version 0.1.5.1 from May / 27 / 2005:
- French translation (thanks to Jean-Bernard)
- the description is localizeable (thank you Jean-Bernard and Jürgen Berg)
- the menuitem in the german translation is "Suchmaschinen ordnen" instead of "Reihenfolge der Search Plugins ändern" because it was very long and only half-translated (thanks to "ReinekeFux" for the better solution)
- in the English translation "Save changes" was replaced with "Apply"
Changes in Version 0.1.5 from May / 18 / 2005:
- reorganized the XUL-code of the extension's main-window
- added a context-menu to the search engines (in the extension's window, not in the search bar)
- search engines can be moved to the top or to the bottom with a single click (two if you also count opening the context-menu)
- instead of applying everything immediately, there are OK, Cancel and Apply-Buttons (Apply is called "Save changes" until version 0.1.5.1)
Changes in Version 0.1.3 from May / 16 / 2005:
- sorting alphabetic is saved and not only showed in the window
- these error-message aren't displayed in the JavaScript-Cconsole when Search Engine Ordering from version 0.1.3 on is opened:
Warning: redeclaration of function alphabetic Source File: chrome://searchengineordering/content/order.js Line: 390 Source Code: }
Warning: redeclaration of var prefBranch Source File: chrome://searchengineordering/content/order.js Line: 19, Character: 12 Source Code: var prefBranch = prefService.getBranch(null).QueryInterface(Components.interfaces.nsIPrefBranchInternal); // this is for Firefox 1.0
Changes in Version 0.1.2 from May / 15 / 2005:
- added: alphabetic sorting
- the actual focused search engine is alway visible
Changes in Version 0.1.1 from May / 15 / 2005:
- Search Engine Ordering never opens itself in a tab in the background
- the "About Search Engine Ordering"-dialog is translated and translateable
- changes of the checkbox "open Search Engine Ordering in a new tab" weren't saved, if Search Engine Ordering was only opened by the "Options"-Button in the exension-manager until the time it was (un-)checked
- corrected the word "Suchmaschinen" (german for search engines) which was spelled wrong in the extension's description
Initial Relase, Version 0.1:
- options window for sorting the engines
